View Full Version : Exhaust Tip Size

I'm planning on getting a custom exhaust made in August. I'm going to use the Dynomax muffler with 2 1/4" pipe. I just don't know what size tip to use. Can anyone make recommendations and post pics of their so it's a little easier to decide?

P.S. I don't want one of those damn coffee can size ones. :gay:

dont use any tip. If its not the kind of muffler thats at the end of the pipe just let the tip hang out. You could get a chrome tip to add a little bit of flair or something. resonator tips are so 90's....... :lol

i have straight pip on my car from the cat back and put a monza tip on the end and it sounds ok. (i know this is :rice: now but it was before i knew anything about anything).

Just got to an autopart store, they sell the small tips...

i would go with a borla intercooled tip. They look awasome and not gay as all get out. I just dont like any kinda round tips so im plannin on gettin the borla one. but dont go more than 3 inch.

Pep Boys didn't have any 3" tips. I ended buying a Bosal Brospeed 3 1/2" tip for 25 beans. Should look pretty good.

Well for $24 the 3.5" tip isn't too bad. It will look better than a fat can.

my can has a 6" tip. yes i know very rice but i don't care cause it sounds killer. not to loud but not very quiet.

Here is my muffler with a 3 1/2 stainless steel tip from pep-boys 15$. Dosent look bad with my dynomax super turbo muffler!:D

I'm getting the exhaust put on Wednesday. I'm paying $160. I know it's more than other people but you get what you pay for, right? The guy seems very knowledgable and knows exactly what I want so I'm having him do it. He even took me out to the shop and showed me what pipe they would use and all that. I can't wait.
