Alright I bought my Grant wheel last week and it is sweet! I just got my MOMO hub kit in the mail like 10 minutes ago and it came with warning papers saying to read the instructions. But the funny thing is, it didn't come with them. Can anyone help me out? I went on to nopi to see if they were there, but they didn't have them either. I'm looking at the stuff trying to figure it out and I'm just drawing a blank. Hopefully someone that has an aftermarket wheel and hubkit will help me out.

Alright I have a good idea now. It just came to me while taking apart the wheel.

Nope, thought I had a good idea and it ended after I got the stock wheel off and tried to put the hub on. I must have to take more things off to be able to put the hub on. I have pics leading up to where I got stuck.

This is where I got stuck. I don't know what to do now. A20A1 said I could still keep the levers and I don't see how that will work. Can someone please help me?

Shepherd said I would probably have to take the plastic off from around the levers and I think that plastic circle piece up front there.

Alright I have the black plastic stuff off around the steering column. I also took off that little plastic circle off that's right in front on the pic. I still don't know what to do and I am getting tired of not know what to do so I'm giving up for the night. I hope A20A1 knows what to do. I think he's the only other person that has an aftermarket wheel and hub.

Well I just wish I knew what I needed to remove.

What in the world? you remove everything for the horn and the other steering wheel buttons, but not the turn signal stuff.... then you need to hook up the one wire from the horn to the button... I aslo found a spot for a srew and from that screw I made like a little popsiklestick size peice of metal that i bent to keep in constant contact with the plate on the wheel while the wheel turned in order to complete the circuit for the horn.

What about the wiper lever? Mike do you have any pics of that stuff you needed to make? My head is numb. And I haven't ate all day.

The hub has teeth.. expose the teeth on the steering wheel and slide the hub onto that and tightern the nut down. the steering wheel pops out more the the stock wheel... but not by much.

Well that pic answers the wiper lever question. But you do remove that circle thing that is in my pic?

Okay so there should be a brass colored disk that is insulated from the rest of the hub... that disk has a wire coming off of it... that wire is the positive wire for the horn button.... the hub itself is the ground wire... do not connect a positive wire to the hub.

I had to find a insulated spot on the plastic case behind the hub to mount a long skinny flat bit of metal that would protrude out enough to reach the brass ring with the wire coming out of it... if for some reason the flat bit of metal comes into contact with the hub, your horn would go off, so try not to do that.

at the spot where you mounted the flat metal... you need to connect the positivehorn button wire.

So this is how it basicly works

the hub isgrounded to the car... the buttons clips are grounded to the hub... the buttons positive wire is connected to the brass disk... the brass disk is in contact with the flat bit of metal protruding from some plastic or non conductive mount... connected to the flat bit of metal is the positive wire for the horn button.

I feel so dumb b/c I don't know why some of the stuff is happening. My ignition light is on (little like by the key hole). Mike said it was probably grounded and I needed to fix it but I followed the wires from the light and it all seemed normal. So what I did is, I disconnected the plug from the wires that are by your feet. (don't know if you understood that) Is that ok?

I'm starting to think I don't need a horn. Do you leave that little white plastic thing that has the brass plate on? Is that the thing that I have to have a metal bit come off of it? I will get some pics tomorrow and show you what I'm working with.

I have been doing some thinking. I could buy one of those horns from like jcw.com and not have one on the steering wheel. Would that work? I just want to put the crap back together. Nothing is going right for me tonight. Pics won't load, can't get the horn hooked up.

Here's the horn that I think I will get if I can't figure it out in the morning.

Well A20A1 and I had a cram session trying to smarten me up and I used his ideas today and it didn't work so I will just have to go without a horn for awhile until I get one of those horns from www.jcw.com ones with a PA system and multiple noises and horns.
