would it be possible...or safe for that matter to mount the battery on the firewall...just to distribute weight? I messed with the firewall and it seems kinda weak...don even know if I can weld on the damn thing...

To distribute weight? Damn how much does your car weigh that you need to move the battery? :)

You could relocate to the rear or get one of those odyssey batteries that weigh 15lbs. and mount it on the floor board passenger side or the truck, or somewhere else in the engine bay.

Moving the battery to the trunk changes the weight distribution by almost 2% depending on what your battery weighs. It seemed to give me a small decrease in understeer.

Put it in the trunk. It'll come in real handy if you decide to add an amp.

This is an old pic. Since then I've grounded it at two different spots in the trunk. Now my lights don't dimm and the car cranks on the first try:super:

damn A20 your always one step ahead of me arent you:tongue: but yes that was the basic idea that I was going for...but I think a support brace on the bottom would help too...I was just going to use the original battery tray and build around it

Is the firewall sturdy enough to weld a bracket to? I have been thinking about doing that for a long time, but i wasnt sure if it would be able to hold a bracket that was welded to it. Would a Civic low-profile battery be able to crank over an accord motor? I dont see why not, but that would be nice if i use one of those instead of a big normal sized battery........

i was reading honda tuning magazine the other day.. they swapped a civic type r motor into a crx and they used a battery from a harley. little tiny thing but it works. i was thinking about doing that when i get a CAI...

optima sells some good light batteries..but they are very $$$...might look into one of those

you can weld to the firewall but first weld some support bars really good then from the supports you can weld on other things a be pretty certain they will hold.

here is my idea of what the support would look like. i think having more support below it would help support the weight on the (what i think is) flimsy firewall.
