Strong smell of petrol

Hi there peeps, 2 weeks ago i notice this strong smell of petrol coming out of the engine bay area, like u can smell it 2-3 metres away like your at a petrol station. Is it because of how the previous mechanic tune the air/fuel mixture?
Does it cause any problems if i keep running the car like this?
Cause i don't have the money to take it to someone who can fix this up at the moment?

most likely you carb is leaking.
check around the carb for any wet spots.
