Fire in my engine

well here is the problem I had- yesterday on my way home from work my engine bay cought fire around the header cover right around where the o2 sensor's are- I was able to blow it out and was lucky that I didn't blow up- my car has sat for six months since I had to go away to Iraq and leaked oil but what would actually make it catch fire- any help- thanks

Usually oil leaks from the valve cover and drains down the front of the block. It just builds up tons of oily crud. Then after awhile the heat from the header will start it on fire.

If you clean it out really good and fix any oil leaks it should be fine.

It is actually a somewhat common problem for these cars.
