:pimp: Well as you all can tell I'm a newcomer to this board. I hope i will get to know you guys. But i have the stock engine in my 88 lx hatch and i want to upgrade to something newer. For example a newer civic motor or old accord motor from a 96 or something. Any pointers, and i love v-tec so help me out if you can.

You're gonna have to convert to EFI before trying an engine swap though.

hmm... there is no suck thing as a LX hatch.. i think he is misunderstood

well the back of my honda say LX on it, it looks like there was an I behind it or something. i just bought the car off some other guy who was trying to "pimp" it out and its all primered up and has no springs init so its allot of work. The engine has A20a3 stamped on it. DOHC 2.o i think.

im pretty sure there is a lx model hatch, at least for 85. If you go to the suspension area of 3geez you'll see my post for coilovers. Because my hatch has none right now! this car i junk right now.

If the engine is an a20a3 then its an LX-i hatch and its already EFI.

there is LX hatches....up here in Canada.. all of our hatches are LX carbed models.. unles they were imported up from US...

like up here we also have the EX-i...which your version is the LX-i.. same shit...so yes there is such thing as LX hatchies...

Well you can swap in a JDM b20a and that will cost you $1200 or less + shipping.

im sure mine is a LX-i, but HELL NO i did not buy that one off ebay. I got one here some guy in charlotte NC wastrying to do, he really was ghetto. It has no springs init at all right now and has walmart primer all over it. I hope to get it running and lookin good before i start driving it. The ride is so damn bumpy. Would it be possible for my to get a engine out of like a 93 accord or something for it just to make it alittle better?

Umm JDM b20a is a direct replacement and it's really cheap for any kind of a swap.

how would i go by getting the swap done after i get the motor and all the good stuff i nned, or since its a direct replacement would i even need the ecu or anything such as axles??? i think i like this b20a idea!
