Well you can always make a cover or just buy a Air Bypass Valve like I have. I made an airbox too. I haven't had my hoodscoop in the winter yet but I can always turn the air box upside down if snow is bad.

Ive been thinking about that myself, and i;ve decided that i will probably have my scoop face the rear. the ram air effect is very minimalm so turning it around will not hurt the performance gain.

So it would be a cowl then. I learned in Physics that a cowl would actually be better anyways. B/c the air spins around the edge of the opening and goes into the engine. I was thinking about doing that but the looks weren't too good at all. I think only a big cowl would look decent. (not saying they'd look good at all on our hondas either, just saying it would look funny to have a 12" long hood cowl) I really don't think there would be a noticible difference which way it would be facing.

Or you could just rig up a vacuum powered vent that would close the scoop whenever you wanted.

How does subaru keep rain and stuff from getting in their scoops? I know the WRX has a functional hood scoop. I've always wondered how they keep it from getting wet......

Well you need a hood scoop.

Then you will need an airbox and an intake.

For the intake you can get a civic short ram on ebay with the filter for like $25. Then you cut off like 4" off an end. Then it will fit, so you will just need an airbox and you will be set.

I have seen a WRX and under the hood and I'm sure they use an Air bypass valve b/c the air from the scoop goes straight into the intercooler.
