well guys....its been awile sence I have posted.....I am gonna miss all the help yall have given me in fixing up my accord ......but I traded it in....and got a 2003 cavalier last week.......Its so much faster and smoother running than my Carbed 87 DX! hehe.....but I still kinda miss it.
But enough with the sad stuff.....
The new cavalier has 140HP and 150 FT lb of Tq!!! 5spd
The accord I had had....98HP and 101? ft lb of tq? also and AUTO
I went to the track with the accord *an 1/8mile track* and my best time was a 12.322
I went to the track with my new car and got a 10.3!.....I stomped my friends 240sx and my other friends 1990 prelude SI.........

The only thing I truly miss is you guys........and the pop up lights! hehe!

thx for all ur help you all will not be forgotten!

A cavalier ! You traded in a honda for a chevy. Well i guess to each is own, But let me ask you one ? how many miles did your honda have on it ? And a ? for the future- When your cavalier has 35,000 on it and breaks down for some odd reason are you gonna geet another honda. Lol Im j/k good luck with the chevy.

Idunno, the sunfire/cavy's been totally redesigned supposidly fixing all the crap that would break. My sister's BF has a 2000 Sunfire GT moded to hell and it has over 150,000km with no problems so far.

Good luck man. The best of luck to you and your car. I'm just wondering, what did you end up paying for it if you don't mind me asking. You don't have to respond if you don't want to. I just want to see what I would have done with that money and the amount.

I knew all you honda lovers would be against it.....and I was at first also! but after I looked at the price....for they're highest model.......looked at the specs of the engine.......and compared them too the only other honda in the price range *new that is* I decided for a cavalier over a civic.....civic has 127HP Vtec and the price of the car is like $19,000+ the cavalier has 140HP Ecotec and the price was 17,000 then a $4000 rebate making it $13,000 then a $1000 loyalty off cuzz my dad owns a chevy..... making it $12,000 then some haggling and pissing of the dealership....... making it 11,300! for the highest model with all power options and 16inch wheels! to get a civic's price down that low would be impossible......to even come close you would have to get a NON vtec NO power options
so thats why I chose a chevy........I still love hondas......and if I had more money to spend I would have bought a civic SI instead! haha.....or the new 2003 accord *so sexy*

well, sounds like you got a good deal on it so thats good. i've seen some decent looking aftermarket stuff for them too (unlike the 3g). do you know what the tested 1/4 mile et. is on those? from what i've heard they are pritty quick.

We'll see you when the engine blows itself up. They like to kill themselves after about 100k mi. of normal driving, and you are racing the car. I say it dies in about 50k miles. Enjoy it though, they are nice looking.

You will be back.

You were almost there, price wise, for a SRT-4. Anyways, congratulations with the Chevy/Toyota Cavalier, its hot in Japan you know.

you cant get a SRT-4 for $11k. Toyota has nothing to do with the cav. They do make the prisim/carolla tho.

I was waiting for someone to bite the bait and attempt to upstage me. You might want to do some research on the cavalier. As far as the corolla, and geo, thats old news.

I was referring to his original price of $17k. The SRT-4 goes for $19k. Pretty close, don't you think. :lol

They are badged, making them prime candidates for an Alias, for our asian friends here on the board and elsewhere.

Again, I never said it was a toyota verbatim, I called it Chevy/Toyota Cavalier, meaning there is a different name for each, hence the forward slash. Kinda like a Nissan 240sx/Silvia and such. Or in the case you mentioned, Geo/Toyota Prism, DSM=Galants, Eclipses, and such. Gte the picture, must I draw one for you or spell it out. Damn. Alias=an assumed or additional name.

Please tell me you guys can understand that, please.

Toyota put out some TRD parts for the Cavalier in Japan. Search hard enough and you may be able to get some of them over here.

I know that my car has a german transmission and the same design suspension as a jetta..... the transmission is made by the same company that makes Nissan Skyline's tranny!
