well as some of you may or may not know, my car needs major front end suspension and drivetrain work. i took it in yesterday, and according to my mechanic, it needs alot of work which he promised to me for $1000 or less, which is good in my opinion.

it's getting:
new front lower balljoints and upper control arms
new CV boots and shafts
4-wheel alignment
new front struts

also in a few weeks i'll be buying 4 new tires, Falken Azenis.:D

Careful with those tires, I've heard they don't like water. yokohama AVS ES 100s seem like a better bet.

thats not a bad quote for all that work, although you could do most of it yourself except the alignment and save yourself a few hundred bux.

will those fit stock lx-i rims?

*EDIT*
also, how much would they be a tire?

about the falkens, i've only heard good of them and that they're really sticky tires, but i dunno.

Sticky usually = low mileage

another good tire i've heard of is the khoumo(sp?) supras. My buddy had em on his car and they kicked ass. Good mileage and sweet performance.

You defintely won't find avs es100s in a 13. The azenis are very sticky, but i've heard in the wet they're not at all. They're definitely not all-season tires. Most people use them for auto-x.

lx-i rims aren't 13, they're 14. so i'd need 195/60 R14.

Sorry...86-87 Lxi rims are 13s. www.tirerack.com has the avs es100s in 195/60 - 14 for $67 a tire. Go there and look at the tire selection they have for other possible options.

i have the AVS Es100s on my car and let me tell you, they are amazing on wet or dry roads. They corner like mad, i have yet to get them to squeal. They are also very quiet for a performance tire as opposed to the kumhos which i hear are quite noisy. I would def. recommend the yokos if you arent going to use them in the snow.

Another member (Darkside) has the AVS and they stick like f**king glue. They are amazing tires and will probably be my next set as well (either that or parada spec-2s).
