If you plan on keeping your 3G and would like to save miles on it, the 2G Accord would be great for a daily driver. Especially with that little miles on it. I'd say if you are planning on using it as a second car, go for it.

okay here is the deal. Yeah i know u can change your auto 3g into a 5speed 3g. but only with a 3g tranny. and dont forget about the wiring harness that should be either disabled or rewired. besides, i am sure the 2g does not use the same engine as our 3g. so the tranny, is no use to our 3g motor. but if u want a 5speed so bad, u can swap a 2g motor+tranny into your 3g and that is, if u have money. but why??? just for the 5 speed?? 2g motor does not have the power the 3g does. so why bother? u can pick up a whole car from the junk for around 150 to 200 dollars (US). get it, take the tranny + wires out and everything that is needed for a regular swap and swap it.

What year is it? If its an 82-83 then there isn't too much potential. Custom mounts are needed to fit just about any motor in there. The 84-85 will bolt in a gen3 motor no problem. There is no sense putting the gen2 motor into a gen3, why would you want to swap in a 75hp motor for your 90hp one (assueming that your carbed). Hell for 1000 I'd buy it, ask them if they'll deliver to philly. You could probably use the tranny, but I am not going to advocate ripping apart a perfectly good gen2 just for its trans, esp when you can get all the parts you need at a junkyard for less then half of what they want for that car.

basically he's asking if the 2nd gen trans will bolt to the 3rd gen motor or if he has to swap the whole thing.

My advice is go get a Prelude transmission.
