In Turbo magazine, I found a new compnay who sells body kits and cf hoods and body pieces, and in there add they show on their list under carbon fibers hoods, 86-89 accords.

I checked their web page- www.aitracing.com and the hoods are on their list. I don't know a price, but all someone has to do is call and ask them how much they are.

So now, no more waitin for them to show on ebay, try these guys and see how much they are selling them for, maybe they would even do a group rate if enough people sign up to buy one.

I emailed them letting them know there was intrest in a group buy and if they'd do it. And I also asked for the prices of all the kits for our cars and for the hoods. I assume it will be at least a half day before I find out what they have to say.

I think this is the same company that started the whole c/f 3G hood. Site was the one member that was able to convince a company to start production on these hoods. This might very well be that company.

Good luck with the G/B guys.

maybe we can covince them to make some vented ones, that would be badass! when you do put a c/f hood on a car does the hood latch need to be changed...when you slam it I would be afraid of cracking the hood

Don't need to slam the 3G hoods. Just rest it down on the latch and push it shut from there. The c/f ones (as long as their from the same manufacturer that site had his g/b from) come with the latch installed already so it's just like a regualr hood.

Most c/f hood manufacturers HIGHLY recomment installing hood pins as well. Since they are so light, its good to have the extra holding power.

As for hood pins, if you do go with them, don't buy the shitty APC or other "performance" brand pins, go with the real thing: good ol steel pins. Most of the cheesy one-piece pins state that they aren't meant to hold the hood down alone. Track and drag inspectors will laugh you right out of the complex if you're holding your hood with those alone.

I went with the real ones, cost less than the others and the last drag inspector that saw them gave me a thumbs up for using the right ones. (I don't have a CF hood, but I don't have a hood latch so the pins are what hold it closed)

I don't want to burst anybody's bubble , but the hoods are always on sale on ebay. When u pay for the hood they make it brand new. They don't have any in stock.

Yes we know they are always on ebay. But if we could organize a group buy through this place, it may very well be cheaper. And I need to save all I can on mine for the damn shipping.
