Engine swap (86 to a 89)

I bought a 1986 Honda Accord DX car for a hundred Dollars from my boss!, Good condition, well taken care of car. The engine runs clean but the Automatic transmission is shot. It doesn't shift out of first and leeks like a B I T ch (R.) works. MY uncle owns a 1989 Honda Accord DX. Its parked in his garage with a broken clutch. How hard would it be to put the 86 motor in the 89? Thanks late. Sorry for the spelling

It ain't that hard if you've done swaps before, if not leave it to a pro.

Both motors are carbed and i don't know much about them to pin point any diffrences. But yeah, it would fit just perfect.

there are no diff between 86 and 89 DX engines.

I thought the only difference between the 86 and 89 motor I thought the lobes on the cam were slightly different and the valve spring pressure was a little more.
