I saw a kit at an audio place that included a 400 watt Lightning Audio amp, wire kit, and 12 inch Lightning Audio subwoofer with box. I was wondering how good of a brand this is and if I should spend the money on it. Honest opinions, but educated?

They are decent subs/amps... better than flea-market fare, but not by a whole lot.

I heard the "F&F" setup in one of my friends cars, and it was ok, not bad, but not very good either. Afterwards he gave me around $1800 and I hooked him up with a monster all-around system.

If you're on a budget, and they fit your budget, then go for it.

Well for 119 dollars... lol.

Provided I don't beat the hell out of it, can I count on it lasting a fair amount of time? Is it going to give alright bass?

If you are on a budget, and not looking into setting up a show car with bass that shakes the dentures out of some old guy 50ft. away, then go with the lightening audio setup. They would likely be rated in a beginner setup scale and offer much bang for the buck.

Yeah no shit, lol

I'm trying to decide if I should go get this kit tomorrow... I just can't decide. I already have hearing aids (nerve damage from when i was born), but I want bass, but not too extreme that it's going to damage my hearing even more

Something good about them is that there made Rockford Fosgate. Thay just started it to try the "low budget systems" and make more cash... There not bad for there amps at all.. My friend had a 200watt amp...LOL we tested it and it was 232 watts

I HAD LIGHTNING AUDIO AMP, AND IT WAS A GOOD AMP TO START OUT WITH. THE ONLY REASON WHY I SOLD IT IS CUZ I DIDNT LIKE THE COLORS THEY HAVE, AND I WAS UPGRADEING
