I recently failed my reinspection for one thing....A high idle.
For one thing , my car wasn't idling badly until after the dmv was down with it. It drove horribly for a few minutes.
My question is...How expensive can repairs to stop a high idle be??

I failed inspection at the dmv twice...I'm thinking of going to a certified inspection/repair center to get it done. Everyone i've called are quoting me 69.99-75.00 to do just the inspection.
Is it worth paying for??
I heard it's easier to get a passing sticker when you pay for it.

ask them what they did to the car.

well the car already had a high idle to begin with but they made it worse during the test. I needed to get it worked on anyway. Just wondering how expensive something like that can get

Adjusting idle on a DX is easy... just turn the screw down. It's also very easy to turn up... so if a inspection place wanted to fool around it could easily do so.
Adjusting the carb sould be like $0... If I was the mechanic... since it's honestly pretty easy to do on any carb... if they were really busy then I could see $20 at most.
