Hey guys, how's it going? Here's the question:
When I put a new cap and rotor on the car, I noticed that the black piece of plastic, just after the rotor is loose and you can easily slide it back and look inside of the distributor. I'm guessing that this plastic is to keep dust/debris from getting into the distributor. Should this piece of plastic be loose like this? There is nothing holding it fast the the distributor so how does it prevent anything from getting into the distributor? Even with the rotor on, there is enough movement to just slide the piece back. Thanks guys.
