At the back of the seat there is a tab that is bolted down with a 10mm bolt undo that and you should just have to lift the back that you unbolted and the hooks up front of the seat will slide out. you might have to look alittle cause the seat sort of covers it. you also must get rid of the seat back first(you probably did this already)and thats all you have to do. Have fun peace.

Well stick your hands by the seat belt things (wheere your ass would be) and pull up the seat. (I have a 4 door and this is how I do it) Huh I guess I have never removed the back part before.

The bolt was probably just not there I to have a 4door and had a bolt holding my down.

The first time I tried to take my backseat off I ran into the same problem, and realized there is a bolt you have to take off. Each end of the seat would pull way out, but something in the middle wasn't going to let it go. Eventually I got. But what a bitch.

I just pop the bottom up with a long screwdriver from the fron, then pop the bolt out

too much popping going on there... looks like the cover on the seat back has to come off. Hatchback, then you get the bolt and lift up to unhook it from the front part of the seat.

Hey at least I searched the query of back seat removal. Low and behold I found a bunch of dead threads with very few posts and incomplete info lolz
Finally found a little bit enough to figure it out before I ripped it out like some people were talking about :o)

Got gas leaking out on the exhaust by the tank.

push down the middle of the back seat, you'll see the bolt, ten mm on a long extension and lift it up and off of the front hooks, takes about 30 seconds,it's probably the rubber hose from the vent line to the tank, you may have to lower the tank to reach those, I think there are several rubber hoses inaccessible from the ground

Can I get some clarification here? I'm trying to remove the back seat bottom on my 88 LX-i coupe. I found the 10MM bolt in the center of the seat by spreading apart the seat top and bottom with my hands so that I could see the bolt. I removed the bolt. Still, I can not get the seat out. Clearly, it's being held by two hooks in front, but is it also being held by something else?

Do I have to remove the seat top? If so, why? And if so, how? The back/top pivots on a hinge at both ends, so how can it be removed?

Just roll the bottom of the seat ahead, then pop the hooks out of the slots in the floor. The back seat should have a bolt on each side by the seat belt mount, take those out and lift up on the seat back at the bottom.

It's a coupe; one clip on the driver's side, one 10mm bolt in the middle and two hooks. You need to rotate the bottom half of the seat almost completely vertically and wriggle it out.

fkin grave diggers!
I saw some old names in there!

on a sedan:
there is a plastic clip on the fold down seat back hinge, I think it's on the driver's side, when you pull the clip out you can pull the seatback sideways and remove it from it's hinges. Then you remove the 10mm bolt from the middle and pull up the seat bottom from the back up and that will free the two front hooks

on the hatch you pull out the two plastic clips on either side of the seat backs and slide the seats inward and off the pins, if it wasn't for the carpet attached to the seat backs I would say they were designed to be removed quickly. the clips have a tab designed to grab

Actually I dug it up last year , the title actually pertains to the search so its good.
You also have to unhook the trunk carpet from the seat back to get it out too

I redid all that mess so I can just pop the seats out if needed

me too its so much better and even though the hatch is pretty huge removing the seats gives you so much more space back there
