i need to know what makes an exhaust sound bad so that i can avoid doing anything that causes it. i want a nice deep growl and i dont really care how loud it is just as long as it isnt high pitched or farty.

might try a flowmaster or a turbo, that should give it a mellow kinda sound

those are the best sounding mufflers on the planet... they are real deep off the line and then you pin it and its like a HUM... well.. thats with any BOMB style muffler, but the N1 is soo nice

any cheapo mufflers off ebay will sound the same... they all have the mellow deepness that i really like... but if you dont get a 2.25 inch cat back, then it will sound like shit

im gonna get 2.25" from the headers back, glass pack in place of the resonator, prolly gutted cat, then a muffler. think that will sound good?

i would get a 2.25 inch pipe from your new CarSound HighFlow cat back with No resonator and the Cheapo muffler... without the cat it gets sooo loud and anything under 3000 rpm sounds like your exhaust is broken.. (not enuff back pressure)

so leave the pipe from the headers to the cat stock except for the resonator?

no.. get a carsound high flow cat attached to the end of the header down pipe, then get a 2.25 inch cat back made with NO resonator... then add your muffler to the end

Travis

PS.. do you actually have headers or a stock exhaust manifold??

i would get the headers first.. then after you get them installed, you will know where to put the cat and shit.. it would be a bit of a hassle with out the headers

exactly, that's what I got. Cheapo muffler off ebay, I think it was $55, and I love how deep it sounds. It's not LOUD, but it's deep, especially with my 2.5" piping.

I'm going to get 2.25" straight pipe to a Flowmaster with a 3" tip. I all ready have headers
