View Full Version : Strange driving sensation?

Well, I am driving around a lot and I have been noticing a few strange things. Whenever my car has the A/C on and it is really hot outside 100 degrees + my car drives funny. I will be on a straight away and the car will be keeping a steady speed, then It will feel like the car lost power for a second. The power will comeback, then maybe 10 seconds later, it will feel like I lost power again. And this will continue. Let me mention that in this time I have not moved the pedal at all. Just kept my foot still, didnt release or push the pedal in whatsoever! If I turn the a/c off, it is less noticeable but still happens. I can't understand why it does this, but all I can say is it removes the joy from driving my car. Any ideas what this is? I have a LX.

Thanks in advance. :)

I was gonna say that your AC compressor was kicking in but thats not it.

Does your check engine turn on at all? Check your computer for codes, that sounds like some sensor could've gone bad.

Could it be miss firing everyone once and a while? Or would that feel a little more jerky?

Does your car run ok at lower temps, say, 80°? Well a stupid thought I had was, wonder if he's running 'normal' NGK BPR5EY-11's or the 'colder' BPR6EY-11's? Those should be used for hot climates or continuos high speed driving, I think. I could be off track, but it might be worth checking what heat range plug your running if you don't know off hand. AZ would definatly be considered a hot climate IMO! I could be wrong, but plugs are only about 5-7 bucks so might be worth checking! Sound real confident in my "advice", don't I??
