Here are some decent new pics of my 3g Accord. The car has lot's of km's on it, but nevertheless it's still in excellent condition. Needless to say, I love the B20A engine! :D

Wow! Your car looks awesome. Very well taken care of. The miles don't matter, some of guys have over 300,000 miles, whatever that is is km's. I like the rims too and am drooling over the B20. Just be sure to keep us posted about anything you do to it.

Thanks!

My ride has 300.000km on it now, it's roughly 186.000 miles. The engine feels great, pulls very nicely from around 4000rpm up to 7000rpm!! Honda specs say it takes 8.5 seconds from 0-100km/h, so you can expect around 8.4 sec 0-60mph.

The rims are 16" Alessio San Remo (bright metal).

Stock muffler with the stock twin tip output (all fuel injected versions have the stock twin tip around here). I plan to change the muffler some time when I get the cash, lot's of bills to pay! ;)

VERY VERY nice. Damn what I would give for that badge on the rear of my car. It's just Honda's way of making those 3G's subtly answer the lingering question of "what the hell does that car have in it" as the owner of your last victim stares at the back end of your car and see's that little badge.:)

Foobari--> Did you place the front license plate there yourself or was it hanging there when you bought it? BTW you should remove the 2 rubber thingys on the front bumper. That would look much better :) Neat car! Do you have a lot of the 16valve's in Finland?

I wish they were "Turbo boost" and "Ejection seat" like A20A1 said, haha!

In reality the first one is a switch for the motor antenna up/down, the second one is for the front light washer+wiper (damn, they don't work, I don't know what's the problem yet), and the third is the adjustable front seat warmer for those cold winters we have around here. All stock.

I was wondering about the tinted taillights myself, and yes I do think there is a little bit of tint there even though the yellow and red are still clearly visible.

About the front plate, I've had the car just about one month now, and I guess the previous owner had replaced the license plate, anyhow in stock models it is much higher in the bumper.

Hmmmm... good idea about the 2 rubber things, I'm just not sure if the whole bumper needs to be painted after removing those.

In Finland the 3g Accord is amazingly popular car considering it's age. Most of the models are carb 2.0 EX models, then we have a very few carb 1.6 LX or EX models, not many fuel injected 2.0 EXi's, and as you can imagine, the 2.0i-16's are very rare. And on top of that, our climate and the salted roads on winters make sure that every 15-year old Accord is bitten by the rust bug, some more, some less, usually more... or even more. I consider myself really lucky finding this one!

About my ideas for the car in the future... as of now, it is our family's one and only car (you know: kids, groceries, work-home, etc.), so I don't have any big plans for it at the moment. But in a year or two when I get the car to myself ;) I think I'll drop it a little (not too much since the 2.0i-16 is already a little bit lower than other 3gees, and I've already hit the ground a couple of times with the license plate  ), then I should get the adjustable cam gears, 4-2-1 header and better flowing pipe and muffler. The engine has the stock 138hp, I have a K&N now, then after adding the above mods I think I am looking at anything around 150-160hp. What do you guys think, realistic? I am definitely going to keep the car clean, no neons, stickers or any other ricey stuff, I'm too old for that! :pimp:

Yearh, tell me about it! The 3geez in Denmark are suffering very much from the salted roads in the winter. Most of them are very rusty and unfortunately very few people cares for them so it's only getting worse. The 16valves are very rare here too, so i can imagine how happy you must be! So far i think i have seen one 16valve for sale and the rest of them lies on the junkyard :crying:

Here's a couple of pics of my old 1987 2.0 EXi Accord (A20A engine), a very nice car also. Yeap, I know the rim-wheel combo is a little bit small (15" + 195/50R15) but it was taken out of my old 1984 1.5S Civic. Also, the car would have definitely needed a drop and firmer springs/shocks, it was way too soft.

 Yeah, but think about this... in Finland the government has these huge car taxes which are about 100% of the original price of the car!!

Some examples of the prices (with taxes) of new cars in here: (1 euro ~ 1 $)

2003 Civic 3D 1.4iS 18750 e.
2003 Civic 3D 2.0i Type-R 30300 e.
2003 Accord 2.0i Comfort 29100 e.
2003 Accord 2.4i Executive AT 39600 e.

So there you have it! Then on top of that, the overall salary rates are lower here compared to you guys... go figure!

Anyway, thanks for all of you for those positive comments on my 3g. I will keep you posted in case there's anything!

Hey I was just in Norway for a month, not to far from Finland (even closer to Denmark) and I saw a few 3geez around too! I hear you on the taxes and higher price thing. For example a 12" Subway sandwich was like $10.75 U.S.D. !! and cars were especially expensive. I am going back to Norway and to tour Scandanavia (and possibly Finland) for the whole year next year. To hopefully lear Norwegian better and see a little more of the world. Maybe I will see you guys around!!

I hear you man! I was also visiting Norway a month ago, and the prices there are just terrible, e.g. food and stuff (=beer) was at least +50% more expensive than in Finland! Norway is like one of the richest countries in Europe, and people get paid well there too, so that kind of explains why everything is so expensive there.

Norway is actualy very similar to Denmark, even the language. But cigarettes is hella expencive in Norway!!
In Denmark we have a minimum of 50% tax on income and 100% tax on cars. It sucks but it keeps some of the older cars alive :)

I like most of the mods too, but the one I regret sooo much are those Hella LED sidemarkers. Sure they look cool in the dark, but they just don't fit in 3G Accord. I hate them so much that I could take 'em off but they would leave ugly holes in the bumpers.

Noi jouset ostin käyettynä "jmp1984":ltä ja maksoin niistä muistaakseni 100€. Tekevät tuosta Hondasta rehellisesti sanottuna järjettömän matalan. Ovat olleet tässä autossa alla:

Hmmmm... I just don't know if those holes in your bumper do any good for that "modern look"! :D Seriously speaking, I actually don't know quite yet if I like the bumper thingies or not, I'm gonna do some Photoshopping tomorrow and see for myself.

I just finished fixing the main relay on my car. My wife got home after being stuck in the middle of an intersection because of that faulty relay, she somehow managed to twist my arm to fix it. Right now, not later. So I fixed it. LOL, well anyway... the relay was a bitch to remove (and put back on), but it's now resoldered and so far everything looks good. While I was at it, I repainted the windshield wiper arms (or whatever they are called) matt black, another small step for mankind, but a giant leap to a 3g.

I'll post a couple of pics tomorrow.

Good thing ya got that relay fixed. Damn... i gotta paint my wiper arms too! They were red before but the paint sucks and faded into pink so i painted them black again and screwed it up so i gotta sand them again and repaint them.

I know the holes ain't pretty and it's not easy to fix them so i'm still thinking what to do with them.

And here something else for you to do: get rid of those headlight washers :D.

BEWARE OF EUROPEAN INVASION!!!!!!!!!!!

Just playing guys.

Foobari. I WANT YOUR REAR BUMPER!

Can you get a hold of parts to be shipped to the U.S.? I have a list of parts I want and if you could get them for me and get them shipped here I would pay you for your time and effort.

Yes, I was coming to that... I'm not sure yet how I'm gonna do it, there's two alternatives.

1. I do it like Rick (http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20827&highlight=clear) did it. Except I would keep the parking lights right there where they belong. Looks very nice and clean but the downside to this option is that those kind of clear lenses are illegal, they don't have the E-approval which is required here. But hey, they look cool don't they? ;)

2. I'll buy 1988 Mitsubishi Colt or Lancer reverse lights. I got this hint from some finnish guy who did the clear lenses this way. They are allmost a bolt-on job and they have much more of a stock look than the above DIY-solution. And another thing, those lights are E-approved (but only to be used in the reverse lights, LOL) Picture below:

Uhm, well basicly yes in a small scale. I just don't have the time to do anything bigger right now. Anyhow there should be lots of parts available here. What do you have in mind, at least I can check if it could be possible. Don't know about the shipping or the price of it yet. You can PM me and I'll see what I can do, ok?

Edit: Here's something you can try. Finnish-warning!!

1. http://www.motonet.fi/G5/Merkki.php
2. Choose Honda
3. Choose Accord --89
4. Voilá, lot's of cheap (LOL) aftermarket parts. These are NOT original Honda parts, but usually the quality is quite good.

Example: European (JDM?) type backlights:
Sedan CA 86--90 left/outer 48-4351 62.90e
Sedan CA 86--90 left/inner 50-3257 151.20e

1e~1$

And then of course there is the official finnish Honda dealer (Veho) where you can get basicly anything. They have very high prices though. Hmmm... I wonder if you could contact them directly and get them to ship the parts for you?

If you want to contact them and ask, here's the address and fax number:

Veho (Herttoniemi)
Mekaanikonkatu 14
00880 HELSINKI
FINLAND

fax: +358 10 569 3404

So, all in all... I'm still thinking about this.

This is what I did before taking any action about the whole mod: I found an abandoned 3G, which happens to be my friend's dad's old Accord (mileage 599000km, 1,6-litre engine!). So i took the original parking lights/turn signals to myself and kept them as spare parts so I could start modifying my original parking lights/turning signals.

So now if my car doesn't pass the safety inspection, i'll just bolt on the original parking lights/turn signals :D. That's how easy it is . Or... maybe i won't take the risk about passing the inspection at the first time and i'll just bolt the original parking lights/turn signals BEFORE the safety inspection.

I wonder what they think about my parking lights :smokin:. Maybe i'll have to disconnect the wires too...

Sorry if I sounded pushy, he he :)
The thing with the Colt reverses sounds cool, especially since i need the E approval too, and this would at least make it look like they had an E approval. But the picture doesn't work. :(
I definately think you should remove those black plastic thingies. They will leave ugly holes, so you need to fill them with something. Mine also caused the plastic to get a little out of shape where they was sitting, because of the bolts, but i just filled it with some plastic filler.

As a matter of fact i regret installing those sidemarkers so much i actually have started looking for new bumpers, haha. But where can i found a front bumper with no headlight washer holes?! I don't have them in my bumper since my headlight washers have been removed...

New bumpers cost quite much (in my budget, haha), but on the other hand, I could start modifying my current bumpers (and maybe paint them to match the car color) if i bought new ones.

Yep, stock it is... the 16v Accords have a little bit firmer and lower springs and shocks compared to the 12v models. Still I think it's a little bit too soft and high.

As low as humanly possible, of course... is there any other way? :innocent:

Haha, seriously... what I really want is some firmness and better roadgrip and handling. And while I'm at it, I guess I would want the car to sit a little bit lower too. Not too low though, I have to drive up/down some steep ramps going to the garage at work. I would kind of suck to get stuck there.

The preferred drop would be something in between my real picture and the photoshopped pic above.

Hi all, long time no see. Some shit happened today, my wife was driving my old B20 3g down the road in pouring rain, she then just quickly looked at the map, and while doing that, didn't notice the Toyota standing in the red lights in front of her. She tried to break but there was nothing to do, rear-ended the Toyota big time. Luckily she's just fine, just to be sure she went to see the doctor but there was nothing, that's the good news. The bad news is, our insurance company is definitely not going to pay for the repair as the cost would exceed the car's resale value. Yeah like they care it has the B20A2 in it, they see it just as a worthless piece of junk. :sad2:

Anyhow, I'm lucky to see that my wife is ok, but sad to see the Accord go.

does not seem like the bottom radiator support is fucked up. So why dont u rip it apart and see what can be fixed. i can see only the radiator, condensor, upper brace, hood, bumper and bumper brace gone. I dont know about the box frame ends if they are twisted in the front, but it does not really matter, it can be fixed with a hammer, seems like she got it in the front. Since u dont have flip ups like ours, im sure u can fix it. Better yet, why dont u fix it?

Thanks for everybody's comments, appreciate it!

As for the car, I really didn't have the time or place to start fixing it now, and we needed a new car for my wife immediately, so as of now, the insurance company paid off the car, and they will sell it to the highest bidder. I guess someone is going to buy the car, and either fix it or put it to pieces and sell the B20 engine separately. I really feel sorry for losing the car, and especially so 'cause I know how much some of you guys would have wanted the engine or fix the car alltogether. But, in the end, it's only piece of metal and I'm happy no-one got hurt or anything.

BTW, we already bought a 1997 Civic for my wife. Yeah I know, it's easy, light and nimble, nice, etc. but it really doesn't have the soul or charisma of the B20 3g.

R.I.P. Have a nice last ride my old dear sweet 3g.
