On last months episode of Car 2 Home, you watched us install a playstation to into the bench of the back seat.

but this ran into two problems, one if I was going really fast and had to jump on the brake the playstation slid out and onto the floor. and two if you have ever tried to sleep on a couch with awooden box digging into your back then you also know it is very uncomfortable. Kinda like the back of a volkswagon!

so last night I did a seat swap and I tried something new. i think this will work out a lot better and when I get time I will make it look nice.

looks quite shitty, and doesnt it need to have ventilation so the system doesnt overheat?

yeah I know it looks like shit I just threw it in there this morning cause I had to ghoto work this afternoon, and I need to get everything back it. this is just temp until I get time to make a platform and holder for it. and yes it does have ventilation on both sides. I know what im doing bro!

I thought your first idea kicked ass, but the second is almost better. Can't wait till I have the money to try this.

What about mounting on the rear deck somewhere?

What would be the Advantages/Disadvantages?

Not if he has it in a discrete compartment in the rear deck. Also, it would be possible to fabricate a harness for easy detachment. So no, it prolly not like that.

you don't need your glove box, slide the fucker in there :)

well actually thats quite funny because I have thought of all of those ideas and here is what i have come up with. My recent I idea was actually taking out the bench back there and replacing it with two buckets. unfotunately I have two extra buckets from the 3 G but they take up almost the same space the bench does. I was actually going to make a pressboard back rest and mount the PS2 in the back rest. but the buckets were two big so out with that idea. I did also try putting it in the back deck but after I thought about it sitting it up there, I would be more worried about it getting fried in the sun than some one trying to jack it. so that kinda ruled itself out. The glove box would be a perfect spot also except that the front of the car and mainly the dash is where you get the most impact when you hit pot holes and what not. the other idea was cutting a hole between the top of the glove box. there is a gap just big enough you could actually mount the PS2 up there but it has the same impact problem. so for right now the arm rest is the best place for multiple reason. when I get the time I will make it look better. my screens are in the front cup holder and behind the E brake console.

dammit I wish it was the 99, its actually the 77. there was one place that had them but of course they got it in after i had bought the 77. thanks guys. im going back to work now. gonna pull the bumper off and 86.

So im back after I was working on the bumper. I thought I saw mantis88 or something like that do this with his bumper. I thought it looked really sharp so I tried it.

but of course after I did all that I went to change my clutch cable out and it touched something and sparks flew and now I think my starter silonoid is fucked up. so now I cant even drive the thing. unless I give it a nice push start

rule number one, dont push start ur car, get a new starter or fish one from ur junkyard.

Love ur hood and ur front bumper lip,

The innovation for the ps2 is good, but sure as heck it will overheat due to lack of ventillation and tlak about some heat insulation around ur unit :D. anyway, the rear bucket seat idea is good, Derick came up with it years back. but i dont know how far he is with it.

HE DID SAY HE HAD VENTILATION ON BOTH SIDES, SMUFGUY

smufguy

but is that ventilation good enough though? I mean those things do generate a lot of heat even though they got pretty good heat sinks.

well as I said earlier that was only a temporary fix. I have already started on redoing the platform for the PS2. and yes I had ventilation and now I have even more. but I ran into a bit of a snap because the way I mounted it, the armrest wont close all the way. so now I gotta take it apart. the front lip is just the top half of an 86 bumper. but that was kinda a bust because its a little too flimpsy and the thing folded over and started dragging. so if any one has any suggestion on how to make it a little more sturdy please help!!!

lol I wish I could except that I already ripped that shit off. I need to find a new way to secure that thing on there. i was thinking about trying to mold it with bondo or something. I could really use some help as to what to do. as I was saying it is no kit. i cut off the top half of an 86 DX bumper, and attached it to the bottom side of my 88 bumper. im sure you can look it up somewhere in the archives because someone else did it already.

smufguy

yeah i figured it was some top of the bumper, but the bolts should hold it up good.
