Heater Control unit

I have an 89 Accord Lxi 3dr with A/C and last week I lost the functionality of the Vent/Heat/Hi-Low/Defrost/Recir/Fresh/AC/etc. That is, when I press the contol for any of these options, there is no change from the vent function. Normally, the led will light up on each of these conrols when pressed and that is gone as well. The AC will kick in as I hear the compressor and the idle drop, but no cooled are enters the cabin. Additionally, I do not hear the vaccum operation in changing controls.

I spent some time this weekend looking at fuses(under dash and engine compartment) and all the ones I checked were fine. Though this until may be tied to some other fuse. My diagram from a Haynes manual shows a 20a somewhere, but I was unable to locate it.

Anyone have any experience with this type of fault?

#5 - 10A in the dash fuse box.

Yep #5 under the dash should be right.

Five was blown. Replacing it worked for a few seconds then blow again. Looks like a short somewhere.
