Timing belt how to with pictures

Probally the hardest thing about changing timing belt is getting that damn crank pulley bolt loose. I would suggest that you see if you can crack that sucker loose before you get too involved.

Oh yeah, getting to top dead center is probally the most important step. Make sure you get that right.

yesterday i just bought myself my second 3g a 86 EX and the last owner changed the timing belt and water pump , and after he did that i would not start and the i bought it .. what should i check first ???

make sure you have spark at the plugs, then chack you're plug wires to be sure they are on in the right order, then check the timing.

make sure he didn't offset the timing when he put the belt on, follow the howto and make sure your timing marks line up
