The '86 Accord I bought my daughter last year started running lousy last winter. Could not seem to keep running. This spring & summer, I have replaced with new, both the fuel pump and the cut-off relay, but to no avail. Sometimes if I pump the hell out of the gas it will start, but has a hard time staying running. I have not replaced the fuel filters yet nor checked the pump ground wire. The manual I bought is lousy also. Any suggestions!

17y old car may have good and bad days..:lol
"running lousy" is a lil vague. Maybe is not the fuel. U complained about starting problems. How is the choke? After starting, does it go to high idle? Electrical problem? Does it miss? How are ur spark plugs, cap and rotor?

well, start with fuel filters.
if that doesn't fix the problem, start thinking about rebuilding the carb. you can buy rebuild kit from any autoparts store for under $40.
most likely it is combination of fuel filters and dirty old carburator.
