How exactly do you gut it? I dont have emissions testing so I want to guy mine. But I'm not exactly sure what you have to do.

From my understanding, you just punch out all of the honeycomb filter stuff.

Just don't breath in the stuff you knock out of the cat... and just avoid coming in contact with it all together...

It a real pain to knock the cat out... it much easier to cut and weld in a straight pipe, if all you want to do is remove the cat restricition.

Just jab the honeycomb with a metal rod and it will fall out. Be sure to wear a particle mask and saftey glass wouldn't hurt either. Like A20A said, you could go and get a test pipe. That's what I have on my car and it works great. Cost me $30 though. Busting out the cat will cost little to nothing.

I saw a straight pipe on ebay last night I think for our cars, suppose to just bolt up to the stock setup where the cat went

That's where I got mine. I got it about 3 years ago so I wasn't sure if they were still selling them on there. It was a good deal. All I had to get were flange gaskets and I slapped it in place. I love the throaty sound it makes.:super:

I got the biggest screw driver and you have to use a hammer to hit it out. That shit in there a rock. I can't remember want the composite is but it is hard.

well, there's platinum, plus some other reactants but that stuff is basically metal you're punching out.

ceramic honeycombs coated with a microscopic film of precious metals, or so they tell ya. If you have to have one check ebay for car sound, they aren't very expensive at all. Last time I gutted one I used an AIr Hammer then lined the bottom with lead so it didn't have that hollow sound. We had state inspections but no emmissions tests so I didn't have to worry about the sniifing my tailpipe
