the stock battery wirring is 4 gage wire.
yes, there is a such a thing as 2 gauge or 0 gauge. they should be as think as your finger.
i would recomend at least 2 gauge wire for 2400 system.

yeah 4 gauge was getting slightly warm with my 1250wrms system, for 2400 youd need at least 2 gauge, id say more like 0 or 00 gauge

the starter wire is 4 or 6, you should have at least 2 gauge unless oyur battery is trunk mount in which case 4 gauge will suffice

OK according formula calculation(not trying to sound like a pointy head but there is a formula to fig this out) for 1400 watts RMS(which is what we need to know not peek power)you need 4 gauge for 4 feet, 2 gauge for 8 feet all the way to 20 feet. Now thats the distance from power source to amplifier

just go big if youre gonna do it, it can only help you. I say get either 1/0 or 00 gauge.

You might have too, Depending on how many watts ur running. remember a good ground is just as important as the power. Your ground wire should be as close to ur amp as possible. when you start going into the thousands of watts. these things get important. ur going to need a ANL Fuse holder, I think that is what its called, ITs a Flat fuse. NOt the blade type where used to, Those Pill Type fuses just dont cut it. I have 80, or was it 120 amp fuse with my Orion 275 g4, running at 1\2 an ohm.

i was going to put brakers in-place of the fuses

Its best to do both, my last "pro"quality install setup had a breaker under the hood, then a power AND ground splitter in the trunk and had seperate fuses on a block for each Amp, plus the normal fuses in the amp. tripple protection for each amp. You can NEVER be too safe wehn doing installs when it comes to Protection, more is better in most cases

most of the time, When a Fuse blows, its already done its damage. an amp usualy blows bacause its not being cooled enough. Or Its being pushed to hard with not enough Juice.
