The replacement is easy, you need to pull off the top of the timing belt cover with a few 10mm bolts. It is to the right of the cover. After that a few bolts on the top and it pulls right out. Also make sure you get rubber gromments to go around the bolts on the valve cover. The gromments come with the Fel-Pro valve cover gasket I purchased. Good luck!

I haven't had to remove my timing belt cover. Mine was able to just be moved...with a little bit of prying, but not much. Maybe with a car with all the bolts that is something your supposed to do.

yea, the valve cover is really easy... but make sure to use a torque wrench. if you dont, its very possible that you will start leaking oil onto the spark plugs, which causes a lot of problems.

I'm not sure if you need to remove the upper timing belt cover, but I did. It's just 2 bolts, so I went ahead and pulled it anyway. Then the valve cover came right off without any problem. Basically it is very easy to pull. Just make sure that you torque the 3 crown to nuts to 7 ft. lbs.

Will I loose any oil in the process or anything?

not much, just whatever splashed onto the old cover.

The gaskets are not necessary but it is recomended to get all new ones. It just depends on there shape. If they are cracked and hard it is time for new ones. You might want to think about paint the cover too. Don't worry this ain't too hard.

Justin, I already got it sanded... Going to pick up some paint today... The gasket that was on it is in great shape

I'd still be nervous about putting on a used gasket...they're less than 20 bucks new from the honda dealership with grommets. It's your call. Just my .02.

if your going to paint your valve cover make sure you get high heat paint, I've done 2 already and have also reused the old gaskets with no problems.

Yeah, I got some good paint... Cost me $5 for a can but its good stuff... I'll pics of the finished product... I gotta go back and buy some primer... Primer just makes it look better im my personal opinion.
