Hi everybody,
I'm kind of frustrated. Just got back from the shop where I did carburetor swap on my 88 Accord LX. Before the swap it was choking on high RPM when loaded (on a highway) and also dying on idle. Sometimes it wouldn't start at all. The problem was unnoticable at first but getting worst with time. I increased idle a little bit to prevent it from dying but it was UP and DOWN - pretty unstable. Anyway, second carburetor came off a low millage accord in a good condition. I put 4 hours to replace it and I'm pretty sure I did it right. The car behaves the same way as it did before the swap. I'm getting a new distributor but I don't think it will solve anything. I'm pretty desperate to fix that car because I love it. Step by step I want to bring it to like new condition.
One more thing, when I turn it off, the engine tends to chock for several seconds before it stops but this could be caused by increased idle.
Should I look at the oxygen sensor, EGR valve? (PCV is OK)
There are some temperature sensors under manifold. Could they create such a mess? Other than that there is not much parts left... I'm so tired of it and I hope one of you guys can suggest sometning. I would be so happy to have this car running properly.
Thanks.
