Took a lil road trip last might down to Gainesville, Florida and came across this 3g at an apartment complex. The owner knows quite a bit about engines and is a huge 3G fanatic. He says his accord is pretty quick and makes a lot of torque, or torquey as he puts it. Stock A20 motor, car idles smooth as glass and as far as mods go he was telling me the only things done are bolt-on, nothing really hard to do according to the owner, just about 3 or 4 hrs worth of installing things, so what do you guys think????

If it was next to you at a light revving would you hands his butt to him or what????????? Easy Kill??? It'd be close???

Just put yourself in that position, just from the pics here would you try it, laugh him off, or just let it go????

Sorry about the pics, but ya know how hard it can be to get non-blurry pics with a digi-cam at night with a flash sometimes

Depends what you have under your hood, and what he's got. You never really specified what kind of bolt-on mods he had :) But hey, give it a shot :D

O!!! you can see an EFI with a cold air intake!!!!!!!!

either that or its a long as short ram. look closely..you can see it. :D

your the one who saw under his hood......so your the best one to know whether or not to race him. but go for it. if you want to...i probably would. its stock either way. no turbo or anything. and if he had turbo there would be no way of knowing.

Looks like my winter/spare coupe even with the sunroof i put in. You can never assume a stock looking car is stock. Im not a big fan of just bolt ons cause it never seems like your happy until you go to the extreme. All of my friends do stuff then are not happy after a while so your better off doing it right from the start. I messed with my other coupe a bit but gladly i realized i wouldnt be happy with all the bolts ons in the world so i looked into a swap and or turbo and im doing both of them now. But its all about what you want and i was please with my friends fully built 2.3 prelude and it was fast as hell but he swapped for the H22 which is nice but his 2.3 was probably as fast with all the work done to it. But a shitty machine shop (GUDE) seemed to cause a lot of problems with the 2.3 so that was partially why he swapped.

Guys pics don't do this thing Justice, its impressive as all hell. Its quick outta the hole, its jumps up and moves in 5th at over 100 and keep in mind this is just the proto-type and more improvements are comming daily as Sean grinds away on this. Impressive is not the word for this, and those of you on the fencepost of swaps and such, you might want to hold off for a short time, just my opinion. Theres not alot out there that won't be there after Seans Kits come full out available. I put everything on hold for mine for now because honestly, when the kits come out the cam, headers, and such i've been looking at will be wasted money

bring it to silver dollar, ill give it a nice wax job ;)

Sean
09-19-2003, 10:08 AM
it needs paint. im not sure about wax making it shine anybetter, as for swaps baaa who needs em. thing is im still running quiet a bit faster then people think. im still struggling to get a fast pass out of it though. i can beat a mustang gt on the street but when i goto the track its either clutch or traction problems or missed shifts that slow it down. no intercooler yet but i found one thats easy to hide in the fender well. ill get photos of the intercooler install.

what happend to the water injection?? :D

I heard of a guy installing 2 DSM fender intercoolers in his 5th gen accord. I wonder if something like that will work for ya?

al010101
09-19-2003, 12:01 PM
should use either a saab 9000 turbo intercooler (it's as big as the saab 9000 radiator!), or a DSM intercooler (eclipse/laser/talon), depending on the style you're looking for....the dsm could hide in a fenderwell, the saab would have to go in front of the radiator.

I think a intercooler thats as big as the radiator would be cool.... it'd be like putting my A/C condensor back in. I personally wouldn't care about hiding an intercooler, people don't see the front of your car when you sitting next to them at a red light

Vinny
09-21-2003, 05:56 AM
Well they seem to be working again, but thats Boba, I appreciate the offer. Sean was here last night and I forgot to take a picture of the intercooler he's thinking of using, sorry guys.

is it alright if i ask a stupid question My Cousin Vinny? what happened to that guys distributor? and what did he replace it with? i see the spark plug wires going to something on the drivers side, but what is it? sorry for being such a moron... i know nil about turbos, except what ive read on this site.

Vinny

Its been moded to a D.I.S. Distributorless Ignition System with a custom ECM. Sean has the kits (for DIS, not the full turbo kit)and has been selling them theres a group buy in the Marketplace. Look HERE (http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16855)

There is also a group of hi-Res Pictures HERE (http://3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22777) , that tells exactly what all the underhood components are and has them labeled as such.
