ok, i was changing a fuse for my headlight and i saw that under my gas pedal, there was a piece of carpeting pushed up and i pushed the pedal down all the way and it stopped at the block, i pulled back the carpet and saw a piece of rubber thats 5/8 in. think so i pulled it off, it was only glued on and i took my car for a ride. now the car seems to have more power than ever, i usually top out at 110 on the highway by my house but i go to 115 today i dunno if its just me, but the car seems faster...is this gonna hurt my car since the pedal is being pushed down farther than it should be? does anybody else have this???

Yes but my throttle cable is properly adjusted so it's a non-issue.

Sorry - yes I have the block. No my gas pedal doesn't hit it before WFO. Yes it could hurt the car taking it out because you'll stress the cable/carb linkage more trying to make the 98hp wonder car (in my case) accel like an S2000.

That pedal stop is there for a reason... adjust the throttle cable if you're not getting WOT. The stop is there so you don't end up streaching the cable or pulling off the cable end where it hooks onto the linkage.

it would be a better idea to properly adjust your throttle cable and put the stop back in.
