I read a couple posts that gave me a hint but sitll a bit unsure..
Are the A20A3 engine blocks aluminum? Bout to trade my 88lx for an 89 lx 5-speed. I hope the car has the A20A3 but if not I like the carbed version too. Just need to clarify the block metal, really DON'T want aluminum... I like the stability, and the sound of 7,500rpm bouncin off the cars I go by :super: Thanks guys, clarify this up pls if ya can.

A20 blocks are not aluminum.
if you going to get 89 LX it will have A20A1 motor in it.
you can swap A20A3 motor for a little more power.

the blocks are cast iron. storng as hell. heavy yes. but you can boost the shit out of them becasue they are so strong.

he runs 34 lbs of boost in a stock a20a3!
11 second 1/4's :D
haha like i said...the a20 blocks are heavy but strong. if you usethem the right way you will turn more heads then you thought possible with a mid 80's honda. for real.

I won't stray from the cast iron block... stout engines... And for the guy sayin at 7500 all i hear is my car fallin apart... pfft... come on down to tennessee and you can watch it rev to 7500+ as often as you want. It's got 170000 miles on it and runs better then most 4g accords i've heard with under 100000 miles on em. Don't diss the A20's I stand by em with my hand up wavin at ya.

Not dissing anything here but just to set the record straight the LX is carbed, unless someone has done a swap to EFI. As far as the 7500RPM thing, thats all you, however the EFI setup has a rev limiter at around 6500 or so, least thats the rumor I've been told. I Don't rev mine into the red, its there for a reason and I like my car too much to beat on it. Last of all at 7500RPM on a stock A2 motor you are soooo far out of the powerband your doing nothing but ragging oyur internals out

EFI cuts out at about 6600. It'll go past redline before the rev limiter kicks in.

I know what 7.5k is like, but stock you're just waisting your time, especialy with a stock exhaust manifold. I just recently completed my header (click here to see header) (http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6466&perpage=20&pagenumber=3) and I'm finally getting good use out of the high rpms.
