hi guys:
my car has a slight problem, after i drive it in the warm weather, i park it and if i come back out to drive again within 30 minutes or so the car just cranks over but doesn't catch, if i give it a little gas while cranking it starts, but why won't it start when it's warm

thanks

its either your fuel pump or a fuel pump relay. it happened to my lx but i crashed it before i could fix it.

Well mine will have a hard time starting if I don't pump it first...but thats normal with a carb....so I thought. Before starting I aways tap the gas twice, turn the key and it doesn't even turn over more than once,...it just fires right up.:burn:

Assuming that you can start your car everytime when it's cold and your having trouble restarting when your engine is all warm up, I probably suspect that either your fuel pump is going bad, your fuel line is losing pressure or either your engine has a lot of carbon deposit. Good Luck.

its the fuel pump man. I had a carb car and it gave me the same problem. It is the fuel pump relay. check the back of the cabin fuse box under the dash. it has the fuel pump relay on the back. the silvery one with a lotsa hole in em. Test if its bad, if it is u gotta replace it. how about your battery terminals? i had probs with thermo valves on the manifold too. see if u got any with yours. good luck man.

I would bet a dime to a dollar that you have a bad ignition coil. When it is hot outside, carbed cars seem to develop this problem.
