How to lower your shiftknob! *pics*

I cut the original rod about 2 1/2 inches and rethreaded it with the metal piece i hammered in the middle. I then took a 1/2" screw, cut the head off and screwed it in so i can tighten the knob on good.

This took about an hour and cost me like a buck to do!

Also make sure to repack the joint while your in there and your shifts will be much nicer!

Tadddaaa, the final result. The knob will sit a little more torwards you now that you have cut it. I like it better, it makes it easier to reach and your throws are short!

Not to be a nit pick but......
the distance you move the shifter is shorter, but technically this isnt a short shifter. A true short shifter actually decreases the distance the linkage moves as apposed to how far the knob moves.

Yes true on the distance part, BUT the throws are way nicer now and it doesnt look like i have a baseball bat for a shifter. Combine this with a short shift adapter and your set.

it's easier in our cars because our shifters are just a bar with a ball on it that sits in a pivot point. we don't have that big cage of pivots and stuff like your 4th gen.

The boot is a JDM Acura Integra boot and the knob is from a JDM civic, both with red stich. (both oem made)

looks way better in person. Ill try to take a better shot

im furiously working on my car right now and converting many things to JDM spec. the lines on the car are extremely clean. ill post pics when im done
