Ok, my idle screw will adjust my idle and all, but it just wont stay where I set it.... it would usualy stop around 1000rpm (instead of the 700 that i set it to) Well today i pull into the driveway, and I notice that it is idling at around 1.2k... well, the screw was just barely in there.... anything that I can do or do I need a new TB? Or just a new screw.... Thanks

there should be a little spring that keeps the screw from comming out.

Can you see the spring or is it located on the tread side of the screw? If you can see it, I dont recall ever seeing it

the spring is very small and it should go around the screw.

Maybe there isn't a spring on FI.. Just a thought but, I could be wrong though.

if you idle is unstable (bouncing around) then its not your idle adjustment screw thats the problem. if its stable, but its inconsistent, it could be something blocking or sticking any of the throttle linkages, but i would guess that some carburetor component has just gone bad. maybe think about rebuilding the carb, or replacing it with a weber carb (only if you dont have emissions to worry about). hope this helps.

Did you disconnect the IAC when ajusting it because you are soposto.

Hmmm, i guess i should have mentioned that it's FI.... Exi is just the canadian version of the lx-i... the idle doesnt bounce, but the idle screw physically moves on its own, changing the idle.... and i did disconnect the eacv and resest the ecu like your supposed to... it still does it... oh, i might as well add that it didnt always do this and that it started a month ago... the screw hadnt been touched for a while so i dunno what caused it

The idle screw has amn o-ring on it. If this is dry and cracked it will let the screw uncrew on its own. That o-ring is waht keeps the screw from spinning.
