Well, I'll go get it on Monday. Bought it on ebay. It's prolly the biggest pile-o-crap on ebay but it was cheap. I got it mainly to learn to drive a stick better. I have driven a standard trans before, but since I never owned one I don't know if I'd like to own one for driving everyday. I don't know why anyone would want to see it but here it is.

ebay auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2433610399&category=6254)

As you can see from the pictures, it isn't pretty. But it is cheap. :D I'll prolly just give it a complete tune-up, get a new steering wheel, and find out why the hood is duct taped closed and fix that. I'll probably end up selling it, and if I can make it look a little better I bet I can get a few bucks out of it.

Ok, now for a question. What is the difference between a Dx Lx and Lxi? It's got a 2.0l and 250k miles, what can I expect or anticipate going wrong. Thanks.

The DX is the base model, just has a 98 hp carburated A20A1. The LX has the same A20A1 but is more luxurious, more options. The LXi and SEi are the top of the line models, equiped with the 120 hp Fuel Injected A20A3 engine, plus more options, the SEi having the most and best options.

I have an 88LX and about the only difference I can see between it and a DX is the am/fm cassette player and the cruise control. Those are the only options I can see in my car (and the cruise control doesn't work).

I believe LX has more power options as well (power windows, locks, mirrors, ect)...

The seller of this auction is very sarcastic and seems to have sold his car with a bit of ignorance. Your car has potential. Don't call it a piece of crap either man. I have an 88 DX, and so far is it the most well kept, clean 1988 Honda Accord DX I have seen to this day. There's some inspiration...check my site for some stuff to do to the DX.

My 88LX doesn't have any power options, just cruise control and an am/fm cassette player. Maybe the DX only has front mud flaps and only one mirror, am/fm radio and no cruise control? Just guessing I don't really know for sure.

Yeah. I think the US LX's have power everything, but same DX engine. The DX has 2 mirrors, cruise, am/fm, front mudflaps.

Well, I got it home yesterday. This thing is in much worse shape than those pictures lead to believe. Drives nice though, which is all I'm concerned about. Gota get plates and insureance before I get to take it on the street, but so far the clutch works just fine, it starts up without trouble, and as far as I can tell it doesn't leak fast enough to leave even a small puddle. This deffinitely is a lost cause as far as fixing up though, the body is too far gone.

From what I see it is possible to fix up :).

I don't think we have DXs up here in the great white north.

the only bad part i see is the rear wheel wells, just get some fiberglass, and sandpaper and go to town, have it lookin nice in no time....though i'd get a new hood, no reason to waste time with that one..

I'll get some good pictures of it and you all will see. Notice how there isn't a good picture of the drivers side rear, there is a reason for that. I'll run out with my cam, give me a few minutes.

Hmmm, I never even thought about parting it out after I'm done with it. Let's see, its got the hub caps, engine, trans, all good glass, instrument cluster, seats that seem good, just need cleaning, ect.

It actually runs pretty good. It starts right up, idles just fine, eveything so far works, the clutch is good, doesn't make any funny noises. I just got it to learn to drive a stick. Never owned a standard trans so I never learned. I'm going to get a new car within the next couple months and am looking at a 04 srt-4 or a wrx or whatever else strikes my fancy. I don't trust my limited experience enough to go to a lot and test drive one of these cars.

As far as the paint chips, I don't know if that is what caused the rust, but it is a good guess.
