yup. they'll fit.[i am 99% possitive]
HB bumpers are the 86-87 modles i think so you would have to get the 86-89 2dr moddles. but dont quote me on that.

I figured they were the same, just thought I'd get some feedback first. I might bid on them, not sure yet, if I wait a while they will be cheaper.

Do you guys really think these are worth the $40 (including shipping)? I mean you can get the 4th gen ones for $25 shipped, I know they're different, but I'm just saying that aren't these a little expensive for bumper lights. I think I'm gonna try to clear mine out myself. :)

BITESIZE
09-29-2003, 09:52 PM
They should though.

BITESIZE
09-29-2003, 09:54 PM
Not when the clears that I have made, are falling apart, and discolored already. I'm not going to go through all the trouble to make them again, when I can just buy them.

3G Jester
09-29-2003, 09:54 PM
id say get 4th gen ones shipped. not muchdifferent. you can find em at your local junkyard and they are OEM. plus they are hella cheeper. unless you really wanna spend 50 bucks for somthing that loks a little newer then 4th gen lights or even the 89 clears.

BITESIZE
09-29-2003, 09:57 PM
The 4th generation accord lights are an exact matchup and will fit eh?

MrBen

sweet... my clears are getting all hazy... not sure why... must be water deposits or mold or oxidation... but yeah they are worth it.

uhmm .. i thought that the 86-87 bumpers got the two screws on the fron of them ? those bumper lens on ebay are the ones for the screw on the bottom right? well it looks like it to me .. - but i did a 89 bumper conversion where the bumper light was clear with the orange piece .. i just took off the clear part off the bumperlights and took of the orange .. iono

They do

Bitesize you should find out if they really have them for the 86-87 Sedan and hatch Accords first before you buy.

I think that they don't know there was a change in bumper desing throught the model years.

i dont know why you would pay 40 dollars for those things, when it took me 0 dollars adn about 20 minutes to clear my bumper lights,on both my cars, and even if your home-made clears are fading, go to a junk yard and pick up a set for cheap and do it again, i could think of better ways to spend 40 bucks, but tahts just my opinion

I bought clears for my g/f's 4th gen and they were less then 20 bucks shipped. For all of you who dont have the correct bumper for what they sell, why not just put on the 88-89 bumper? i can get brand new OEM bumpers at a junk yard near my house for 30 bucks........

It's freaking hard to find those clear 8889 lights at the salvage yard because the fronts are always wrecked

I think its worth it cause most lenses are all pitted and look like crap and it would be more expensive to buy new Honda ones and cut them open to do it anyway which is what i was gonna do when the car is painted. I dont want old pitted lenses with a new paint job.

I did look on the website and it doesnt list them on their so i wonder when they will and how much they will charge to buy direct.

I noticed that too.....I'll bet they are trying to see how many people are going to bid on them first.

for those of you with an 86-87..if you want those style lights, you can do a bumper swap from an 88-89.. thats what i did when i had my 87 before i got my se-i..

but i just cleared out the lenses myself..it's easy to clear them yourself and it takes about 1 hr..if you have a dremel or even adrill with a small bit...you just dril and cut out the cube from the back.. then pull the pieces out of the lense...

this way you don't have to break your seal..

We already established the 88/89 bumper.....actually I have an 89 bumper-problem is....it's an 86/87 style. :)

SteveDX89

Those lights won't work on 86-87 bumpers. They have the screw on the bumper that you turn through the fog light covers. They don't have the screws in the front that are used to hold on the light covers on the 86-87 sedans and all hatchbacks.

Those pictures are probably for the 88/89 bumpers, there is probably a differnent picture of the 86/87 lights. They certainly are not worth what they are going for right now.

So let us know when you get them and tell us what the quality is like.

You figure you would of spent 30 plus on making your own. (because used ones are junk most of the time) Plus you dont have to worry about messing up.

SteveDX89
10-08-2003, 12:22 PM
because used ones are junk most of the time

You just use the ones that are already on your car. They shouldn't be junk. That's how I did mine. Followed the How-To.
