I thought all 3G's had the same gauges but apparently the 88-89's have inward-pointing needles on the fuel/temp gauges, as opposed to my 86 with outward-pointing ones. I'm going to try to get a refund on these but if I can't anyone who wants them can make a bid. Before I broke down and got the damn PCP ones I tried making my own from scans that were on here and none were the right size. Does anyone have any nice looking correctly-sized 86-87 manual MPH gauge scans they could send me? Another option I'm looking at is custom fab but that could be damn expensive. If anyone is interested in doing a group buy, let me know and I'll find out more. One place looks like they would do a really good job, but require at least THIRTY group buyers.

Actually I think the difference was in the maker of the dash...below the speedometer it will either have a NP logo or NS logo. If you want those gauges to work you could always go to a junkyard and pick up a fuel/temp gauge with the needles pointing in the correct direction for the faces.

Are the 88/89 faces or pods interchangeable? Or are there other 86's that have outward-pointing needles? WTMF HELP MEE :P

i have 86 and i had outward F/T gauge.
i got indiglo gaiges and boom i need inward F/T gauge.
so i would say take your old gaiges. remove spedometer one, and putt it on the other one, this way you would have gauge cluster that idiglo ready and you would still keep your original miles.

oh yeah, the other thing. the inward F/T gauge will not fit on 86 gauge board. inward has diff connections. so you would have to use 88-89 gauge board. have fun.

The 88-89 board will hook up to my dash without any problems though, right?

yeah the hook up is the same, but the 88-89 bard is diff for F/T gauge.
