I have an 89 Accord Lx-i coupe. When i start my car a belt squeals and i dont know for what reason, but once i give it gas it stops. I dont hear it till my car is parked in a long period of time.
Does anyone know how i can solve this problem?

I would first suggest checking the condition of the belt or belts in question. If they are glazed, have broken ribs, are cracked and so forth, then you might nee to replace them.

Also make sure that it is not too tight as well. It should not have more than a half-inch of play when pushing down.

Check all of your belts while you're at it. If they're bad, they may just need replacing. Never hurts to look. Look for cracks, etc. They should flex a little bit, but not too much.

Ya, I just had the same problems, and it was 2 of my belts that were glazed. I just picked up new ones, cost about $16 CDN

yeah. nothing more to say just giving you confidance in what was said. check your belts. if they are bad replace them. if too loose or too tight tighten them using the adjustement screws on the various engine parts using the bolts [fans, alt, compressor ect]
if you need help with this go to paulaerodeck86's webpage and download the part of the 3g manual you need. unless you have the haynes/chiltons manuals or know what you are doing without them. any questions feel free to ask. we were all once in the same position you are. welcome to the board btw
