When my old alternator was in and my busted O2 sensor was in it idled around 100-200 RPM. Now that the O2 sensor is fixed and i got my beast of an alternator (140 Amps), it is idling around 1000 on cold days and 800 on warm days.

1500 during fast idle (cold), and 800 when warm. Purrs smooooth as glass, even with a/c on.

2400 cold
1000 warm

my car vibrates alot under 1000, is that normal?
i tried setting it to about 750-800 and the whole car is shaking when it's that low...
also, are the rpms suppose to drop about 100 or so when the lights come on? i think i might have some alternator probs...

About 1,800 cold, around 1,000 after warming up...although sometimes the idle just drops to zero at random.

Even when I'm coasting downhill on the highway. Hehe.

I put in a new fuel filter nad cleaned up the carb, I'm not entirely sure why the car does this, but I figure if I search this board long enough I'll find an explanation, heehee.

mine idles around 2k when it starts and then goes down to around 750

The thing is it gets real rough anywhere from 1200 and down, I think it is the valves out of adjustment and or timing. I'm gonna fix it as soon as I get to the parts store to get a valve cover gasket since mine is leaking all over my exhaust and stinks when I go up hills. Yuck.

1000, but it was idling at around 200 when my ground wire came loose, it will drop to about 700-800 everytime my bass hits.

my car idles at 3300-3500 when its cold....is that high? it drops down within 2 mins though, it idles at 900 normaly....when i first start it up on a cold morning it idles above 3000 its annoying but hey gotta wake her up from that deap sleep somehow! when my spark plugs were installed wrong and the wires were on the wrong plugs it took an hour to start it cuz my uncle swore it was the carb that was screwed!!...so when it did start it would buck around at 100-200 rpms that was scary. thought she was gonna die!....lol

How the heck can you install spark plugs wrong? Upside down?

Looks like my car is idling at 1,000 rpms....which is halfway normal. :)

500 on good days with a little richer mixture and a tad bit more ignition advance.

700 - 800 Most of the time.
