Hi,

I got to replace the front brake rotors on my 87 LXI. I do not race or anything like that, just for the very regular driving. Got quotes from $14.99 apiece (Autozone) to $77.99 (dealer). Could you please share your experience with different brands from various stores? I do not want to spend more than I have to, but I do not want to replace them every 10,000 miles or so, either.

Thanks,

Val

Screw the dealer, O.E. rotors are not worth over five times the price. You can get better powerstop or powerslot ones for about that price. The Autozone rotors are decent. I have a set of Beck/Arnley rebuilt calipers and rotors and they are perfectly fine.

i have autozone rotors and they are fine. just don't buy bake pads from autozone because they will wear out rotors too fast.

Aftermarket rotors are fine. Saving money in some areas when you can means you can spend a little more on other things later

Don't go cheap when you buy brakes. I bought dealer rotors and havent had any problems with warping like I did with Autozone. When you're flying down the road, a nice set of reliable brakes is nice to have.

Got Wearevers from Advance Auto Parts ($16.88 each). Have only about 300 miles on them. So far they are great.
