A Spark plug itself is grounded correct or incorrect?

yes it is grounded. Otherwise you'd have no spark, the plug would just sit there at 20000V and do nothing.

YES...grounded!
The energy travels down the plug wire...down the electrode....across the gap...onto the pickup...into the threads of the plug....into the block of the engine which is ground!

To your question..... yes it's grounded, b/c it's screwed into your engine block which is also grounded.
