Hello all,

I am in the process of rebuilding/improving the suspension of my 86 DX. So far I have installed front and rear sway bars from a 90 LXi and ordered H&R springs, Koni fronts, Tokico rears.

The rest of my suspension is 243K mile stock.

My questions is: what pieces should I replace or upgrade while I have everything apart? I am thinking ball joints, bushings and tie rod ends but I'd like to know specifically what others have done and any particular trouble spots to look at. I am also thinking about the Prelude upper arms at this time too.

Thanks,

Gregg

you managed to swap 4gen accord sway bars into 3gen accord?
was it hard?
about replacing stuff, i wouldn't worry about it unless parts worn out or seals are broken.
you won't get Koni struts becuase there are none in the world anymore. they stoped making them a few month ago.
you will have to order some tokico front struts or revalved Bilstein struts.

Yeah, because there were no LXi's in 1990. Only DX's, LX's, and EX's.

Sorry, brain fart... I am not actually sure exactly the year except it was the largest bars I could find in the local junkyards. I believe they had to be off an 88-89 LXi or SEi.

Regarding the Koni's, there is another thread in here about several sets being available from www.tirerack.com. I placed my order (from Tirerack) this morning and I received an e-mail this afternoon with tracking number, specifically listing the shocks. I don't count my chickens till they hatch, but it looks good so far.
