I've never liked the door trim thing, but I'm glad you chose black windsheild wipers.

I hate the door trim, too 80's. Nice and clean without it. Like the wipers though, I did the same to mine.

Nice trim! Keeping the car stock says classic to me. It also serves a useful purpose.

Well I needed the door trim because my old trim left the edges of the door all scratched and permanently dirty. So I put these new ones on. And for the wipers, my dad is an electrician. And he brings home specialized paint that he uses for his machines he builds. For the wipers, I cleaned them, sanded them, spraypainted them, and then clear coated. Took about half an hour for the whole thing.

As far as I know neither my coupe nor my hatch ever had door trim on it. Is that somthing that only the sedans had?

Mine came stock with a sort of trim. It was metal, plastically coated. I hated it cuz it left the edges of the door all screwed up.

My sedan didn't come with it either, but I wouldn't want it on there anyway.

My 88 lx-i coupe has the metal platic coated trim. I like it.

The door edge guards were a dealer installed option on a lot of these cars. Mine had it since it was new, but I removed it a couple of years ago. I, too think it looks much better without it. I just used a little polishing compound and wax and you can't tell the things were ever there. That's mostly because my car is white, though.

I like that wipers a lot. As for the door guards, I don't think it does anything for the car cosmetically, but it serves a very good purpose. My hatch came with them, my 88 Coupe and 89 coupe did not. I too took them off my hatch, but that's only b/c I had the car painted, and didn't want to have them just tape off the door guards b/c I got a diff. color white then stock, so it would've looked like ass.

Yeah. They certainly serve a purpose. At my school, the parking lots are always crowded, and I don't really want to leave a white mark on someone's car...because they would probably get me back or something. And if anything happened with my car, I would kill them...so yeah. That's why I put them on there, and to replace the optional stock ones. Those were crap.

You can pick that stuff up at most any auto store.

My dad's an electrician. It's lining for edges I think, for the machines he constructs. Fits like a charm on the edge of the doors. I just took a mallet to it very lightly in order to give it it's nice snug feel.

Hahah. I was going to point that out, but I didn't. Yeah. My intent is to put this car back in 1988. Heh. Not 2050. Stock baby, is the way to go...well, at least for these kinds of cars, IMO.
