(lx)i think i solved the problem, cause last night it was acting wierd like it was hesitating.
it was fine this morning.
then after work it seem's like it was losing power between 3000-^ rpm's.
then it started to surge at 35mph and ^.
i got home to adjust the a/f screw i looked into the float bowl and it looked like someone was sqriting fuel into there.
and then it ran out.
so i suspect the fuel pump. i checked the volts. going to the fuel pump it was 10-12v.
so the relay work's, cause if it did'nt i don't think the batt. & oil light come on.
I took the pump out directly connected to the batt.
and it ran! but not as powerful as any pump would. It sounded like a little motor and was quiet.
i put it back on in the tank connected everything tuned it on nothing came out, and the motor sounded like it was struggeling.
so is this the pump?
or what
i replaced the filter's too.
PLEASE HELP

it was the fuel pump.
i put it in and turned it over.
and it seem's to have too much gas so i adjusted the a/f screw.
now it seem's to lack power from 3,700- ^ rpm.
it seem's like it's surgeing but not surging.
couple day's though i looked at the distributor and it was brownish red.
i adjusted the a/f screw to out position. and it still lack's i even adjusted the float to the right level.
an idea's why this happened on the lx????????

if you adjust the float level you can get internal and or external leaks... but then you'd be experiencing flooding...

bah... I need a plane ticket and my tool box. :D

the float's fine.
it's just when i had put on the new pump it seem like the car was used to the low pressure that the other pump was putting out.
but after a few start's and revving it seemed to adjust to it now.
but i'm still curious 'bout the red stuff in the dist. my dad say'd too much current . . . . . . . . .
what do yall say?????

this morning i took it to work instead of the other one.
it still was lacking the power it had before.
at lower rpm's!this time.
so i took off the air cleaner and the float was full of gas!?
so i did the adjusting then gas came out
from the screw.
i mean i screwed it alll the way down and it still was full so i screwed it back up.
and adjusted the a/f screw out (i think out is to richen the fuel).
so it could run cause it would'nt run unless it was screwed out.
i looked into the barrel's and the venturi's were giving droplet's of fuel out so i turned it off.
i went back 3 , 4 time's it started right up looked at the barrels no gas.
i got home dissconnect the fuel pump and let the engine run out of gas once it did i screwed the float back in. connect the pump and it was fine i even adjusted it too and nothging happened!?
i screwed the screw in ( i think that lean's it ?)
and it's fine . . . . . . i think?

BTW, my dad had seen some oil at the inside bottom of the dist. and he said i should get one for him while i can?
there are two model's of them.
i heard the TEC? is better why are'nt they the same?
thanx-n-advance
