I just bought a set of American Racing wheels (Estrellas), and the label on the box says:
Offset: + 35mm

Before I start freaking out...somebody tell me if I need to freak out or not. Will these work?

I don't really understand the offset yet.

That would all depend on what size and width they are and what size tires you are using.

I haven't bought tires yet...what if I used the 35mm offset as a determining factor for purchasing the tires? Will that work?

im not sure, but can't you buy spacers to change the offset?

Their 14's, oh man. The trick has been to not go with tires that are the same height as the oem tires. Meaning your speedo will be off. I wonder if 195/50-14's or 195/55-14's are even made?

I noticed yesturday when I took one of my front wheels off that they have a offset of 45mm.
I realise this is wrong for the accord but they were on the car when I got it and dont cause me any fouling even lowered by 1.5in.

I suppose that the wheels are too small for the offset to be a problem.:smokin:

My dad hasn't said anything about changing the speedo. He's a Honda mechanic, but he doesn't know much about aftermarket parts and upgrades.

He said that the LX-i model comes with 14" wheels, so he was pretty sure there wouldn't be any problems going from 13 to 14 on the DX model.

Where is the offset measured? If our world was drawn in AutoCAD, is it a vertical or horizontal dimension?

Absolutely correct,....when the offset is 40 or 42mm not 35mm

When you go lower with offset it's telling you that the wheel centerline is moving out towards the fender lip. So a 40mm offset means that those wheels are 5mm closer to the inside of the car or 5mm further away from the fender lip then the 35mm offset rims are.

You cannot run 35mm offset rims and run the correct size of tire. I tried and found out otherwise. If you want to use under size tires you may be able to get away with it. But if those rims can be returned, I would.
