Question #1

My new engine is a JDM 2.0L SOHC A20A3 imported from japan with about 40k miles. The thing is, the mechanics that installed the new engine months ago put my old intake manifold in instead of the one that comes with the new engine cus they said the wiring/vaccum lines were different. I realized the one that it came with is a slightly larger 2-piece intake manifold...looks like it came off a 88-89 lxi/sei....mine is an 87 lxi. So, the question is...is it possible for me to use the 88-89 JDM A20A3 intake manifold? I know it fits engine-wise, but what about wiring/vaccum hoses-wise? Being that the 88-89 JDM A20A3 intake manifold is 2-piece, it might be easier to port and polish and I intend to use it whenever possible.

Question #2

Is it possible to use a B20A3 JDM Accord head on a USDM A20A3?

1 Since the idle controls are so different you would probably need to swap emission boxes, engine wiring harnesses, and ecus to make the 88-89 parts work right. I'd say the mechanics made the right choice.

2 no, but I can't remember why off the top of my head

also, i realized the 2-piece 88-89 lxi-sei intake manifold has a metal spacer between the 2 pieces...will adding another spacer (from junk yard) to increase the volume of air the intake manifold can hold help with airflow/HP or will it be too much air for the block to handle? isn't more air=more power with the spark and fuel to match though?
