This is a recent email from Debbie at ARP:
Hi Mr. Turner, I got your samples today. The rod bolt part # is 208-6401 (8pk w/nuts).
The exhaust studs are # 400-8024 (10pk w/nuts & washers) These are stainless steel
with studs and stainless 12pt nuts. They have a nut starter end so, they will be a 1/4
longer than yours. As for the head bolts, they are 11mm with a 1.5 thread pitch. We
dont make any 11mm bolts this long. If you would measure the recess in your block,
the thread length on my studs are 1 inch long, then add the height of your cylinder head,
we'll add 3/4 inch for the nut & washer and get back to me so I can get you a part number. Thank You, Debbie

Im trying to get the head bolt part of it squared away but it doesnt seem like she will be able to help. I checked today and the short head bolts have room for a longer bolt but the 2 (center) longer head bolts dont have any extra room for clearance because of the cam. These were the most important bolts to me so im gonna try my best to get some so i will keep you informed and will post pictures of the other fasteners when i get them. Thought i would share because i know a few others would be interested.

******10/20/03-update on head bolts*********
Hi Rob, I have a stud 6.35" long part # ATP6.350-1LUB for $10.74 each. And, I have a
7.25" part# ATP7.250-1LUB for $11.33 each. Both of these studs are under cut(reduced
in the shank area). They are the closest that I can find in the lengths that you gave me.

These should work fine i just placed an order for all of the stuff so i will let you know if they dont work by chance. Otherwise this is what you need:

QTY 8 6.35" # ATP6.350-1LUB
QTY 2 7.25" # ATP7.250-1LUB
*then proper nuts for the head bolts (if they are studs)
QTY 1 # is 208-6401 (8pk w/nuts)
QTY 1 # 400-8024 (10pk w/nuts & wash)

so then am I to assume that the model numbers given for everything but the head bolts will work in cojuction with the b20a? Thanks for looking into this for us rob. Mike

I sent them samples from my B20A but i really want the head bolts so im gonna pursue it. She said that they didnt have any bolts that long but the H22 ones are a bit longer so im hoping she is incorrect and just didnt physically look as of searching their computer for sizes. Next up i will be sending a head gasket to Cometic but i think im gonna wait till i get a new JDM one to ensure proper fitment because the old one i have is in pretty sad shape. I also want to send my differential to Quaife but that wont be for a bit since i have a feeling it will not match up with any other ones so i want to have some cash available for custom work.

i can totally understand where your comming from. I am getting some head gaskets from B20aturbo as I have gotten most of my other parts from him already. Like I said before, if something comes up with qiaife let me know. If its priced reasonably Im in. And reasonably is around 1500 not the 900 for the POS phantom. Let me know what comes of everything

Sean i measured them as well and they are 11mm. But i compared them to the H22 ones and they were the same thread pitch and size just to long but not where i can cut it down enough. Im hoping they find a match with something are can do a custom set (doubtful).

Mike the regular Quaife diffs are about $900 for honda applications last time i looked. But i know they wont do custom work so im hoping by the slip chance it matches something off the shelf. If not im probably gonna try to find an OEM Honda one to modify.

Ok i did receive the ARP Rod bolts and the rods will need to be re-sized and have them pressed in but i recommend them for high boost application. I am debating on getting new rods even though mine were shot peened i hate to have something break and damage my block when i have the time to do it now and money at this point dont really matter since i have a good deal in the car already. And the rest of the stuff (exhaust studs and head studs) should be in soon.

hey rob if you go that route let me know. I mat want your rods that are shotpeened

Only problem is they are the B20A5 ones and i remember mike did the B20A ones but they didnt fit the B20A5 pistons so i would assume the B20A5 rods wont fit the B20A pistons. I will keep you guys updated i still have a bit to do but i want it done right the first time.

Ok guys i finally got the head studs in today and the short bolt is the correct part number and works perfect. The long bold didnt fit properly but could work just not willing to chance it so i ordered the 8.0 long bolt and i will have a 1/2 cut off it to be a perfect fit. So i thought i would share since some of you guys that need new head bolts can buy them from ARP and probably cheaper than Honda Bolts anyhow.

Ok got the longer studs today and tried them and i lucked out because they dont have to get cut at all so you should order the following part numbers:

QTY 2 ATP8.000-1LUB (Acura B18A1 Long Stud 1.5) Long Stud
QTY 8 ATP6.350-1LUB (VR6 Head Stud Broached) Short Stud
QTY 10 APW1316N Washer 7/16ID
QTY 10 APN12-1 7/16-20 Black 12pt nut

I also got the rod bolts and the exh manifold studs since im running a turbo. I must say their products are top of the line and the best fasteners i have ever seen.

Wouldn't it have been easier to use aftermarket H23 rods which come with ARP bolts and then you could just use oversize Teggy pistons with the small ends rebushed for the pistons? At least it will never blow up!!

Dont forget you have to shorten one of the long studs cause it will hit the cam shaft and break it. My original machine shop snapped one of my brand new crower cams in half because they didnt check clearance.

I want to say the intake one but not sure you will see when you thread it in. You will need a machine shop to cut it otherwise you will probably damage the treads.
