Hey guys, just wondering what the best way to get to the O2 sensor in my car. 89 Carb, auto. Looks like it is gonna be a PITA. I can't find it in the Haynes Repair Manual either. Is it easier to get to it from the top or the bottom of the car? Any pics will help a lot. Thanks.

You can buy a oxygen sensor socket for a wrench that will make it much easier. Autozone has a loan a tool program, you buy it and they buy it back when you are done. I reccomend using some PB Blaster catalyst spray to help loosen it. It will probably be a bitch to get out.

Yah I have the O2 socket. I did one on my old LEgend. And you are right, cause that was a bitch to get out lol... That looks like its in a not to hard spot, but we will see. Wish me luck lol...

OK I just looked at mine, it's on the left handside (did you flip the pic???). And it looks like I have much more stuff to get around. More hoses and crap. Do you have AC? Thanks for the pic though, god I think this is gonna be a pain in the ass lol...

No, the pic is correct. You have an 89, it is a tad differant. The 86 and 87 had sensors on the drivers side. The 88-89 had a differant manifold. I ripped out the a/c and power steering a long time ago. Good luck
