What are some aftermarket manufacturers, in any, that make headlights or taillights for the '89 Accord LX?

Go to eBay.com and type in 89 accord. You will see H4 Headlight conversions, well worth the money.

There are no aftermarket tail lights for our cars. Either make some, or paint them. Check the How-To section of the board.

Which headlight conversion kit is the best one? If I gotta spend some extra dough for a better kit, so be it. I'll get them someday.

Unfortunatelly there are no aftermarket tailights available. I used a can of VHT nite-shades to tint the tail lights. You can also use transparant candy apple red to paint the lights. I perfer the smoked look.

Ill take some pics tomorrow in the light. I just got a vhs-c camera with a built in digicam. Not the greatest but it works fine.

Just make sure the kits has a glass front. They're all fairly cheap, but it's just a light. Take care of it once you have it. Make it watertight and periodically clean the lense, inside and out if need be. They'll last a pretty long time then.

Generally, the lightbulbs that come with the kit wont last much longer than a year, and don't put out a lot of light. Be prepared to dish out some money for nice headlight bulbs (at least 50 for a set of nice ones). After that you shouldn't have to worry about your headlights for a long time.

I did not paint the center, I need to replace that piece. This pic can give you an idea of the contrast from before and after.

I used VHT Niteshades from Jegs for $10
I used three layers, two coats should be enough though.

Ghetto, you forgot to mention to be careful that they will pass inspection. I just found out my headlights with the H4 conversion I bought off ebay wouldnt pass inspection. I am just gonna swap them out before my inspection and then when I get home pop them right back in.
