I wanted to get a Houston meet together about 3 months ago. I'm still down to meet at Raceway Park in Baytown to watch safe street night. There's usually a few imports racing there.

Add one more to the guest list! I'm fairly new on the board, and my '89LXi is not running right now (transmission locked up), but if you guys are serious about getting together, let me know and I'll show up in my ol' Nissan truck:D . I just posted a note in the engine swap forum looking for 3Geez'ers in Houston, then came accross this thread. I'm in the Clear Lake area, but work in Baytown, so let me know where y'all decide to meet.
Rob.

Dude, I can give you directions to anywhere and just meet you off the highway and guide you to where we need be.

<EDIT>
Rizo, are you talking the car show that's at James Coney Island every Saturday night in Humble. We could meet up at your place early in the day in Kingwood, have the BBQ, then head out there around dark & hang for a bit.

so where the meet at..lol

Dibbs
11-03-2003, 11:30 AM
I'm down w/ havin' it at someone's house. If Rizo would answer I might know a bit more. I think the Saturday before Thanksgiving would be a good day b/c those in school will be on thanksgiving break.

If anyone has any other ideas, lets hear 'em.

I dont think I would be able to make it the day before thanksgiving...MAYBE the weekend before, but no promises on that...but the accord will be getting a makeover soon so I would rather everyone see it when its done...I think a meet a racetrack would be sweet too...

I said the saturday before thanksgiving. I still have no problem meeting at raceway park. They have bracket races on Saturdays and it's only like $8 to get in. The one thing that bothers me about meeting at Westheimer is the cops. They're just lookin' to mess with anyone in an import. I think the weekend car shows at James Coney Island are wrapping up so that might be out. I know a real nice pool hall in Baytown that's 18 & up we could hit after the races. There's always a good crowd there. Everyone keeps to their own. I've never seen a fight there and there's always some nice lookin' girls there. $6 pitchers, pretty cheap pool. A good place overall.

So what do you guys think?

Nov 22, Raceway park, Houston(Baytown), then those willing hit the local pool hall after?

well if the cops are bad then maybe its not a good idea, maybe just meeting at somebodys house is a good idea after all...then there driveway can be a good place to do burnouts...wheee!!!!!

Dibbs
11-04-2003, 11:30 AM
:lol

Doing a burnout at Rizo's house in Kingwood would bring the cops faster than hittin' the switches on a lowrider while driving on Westheimer! I'm not sure who would get there first. The cops or the housing authority.

I like the idea of meeting at Raceway Park in Baytown. What time do they kick things off there? The 22nd, I'm working days, so could not make it over there before 5:30, but at least I will be just around the corner. Being the old guy in the group (40), I'd probably have to pass on the drinks later:D , but I am definitely interested in seeing y'alls rides and comparing notes. So how about a head count? Who can make it on the 22nd in Baytown?

Guys, I found out that there will be no races on Saturday. Nov 22. They will however, have street night on the Friday the 21st. This is a much better chance to see some imports on the track. I want to know how many of you this will effect on being able to come to the meet. If too many people are not able to make it on friday, but can saturday, we will have to find a better place to meet on a saturday.

So, let me know if you're interested in coming to the meet and if so, which day is best:
Saturday, Nov 22 or Friday, Nov 21

Friday night works for me. If you cannot make it to this one, we can have others in the future, I'm sure, but at least give it your best shot. A first meeting would be nice if everyone could attend.

Directions are not a problem guys. I will meet everyone right off I-10 and you can all follow me to the track from there. If it rains, it rains. There's some really big parking lots outside the poolhall I've been talkin' about. We could hook up there as a backup. I just need to know who's coming.
