Since the the car is going to go in to be repainted when I'm finished assembly a kit and I was planning on having them shave the badges. I just decided to do it myself and maybe save some money. I really wanted to do it just to see how it would look.

I know some of the sticker/tape still needs to come off but it's looks pretty good IMHO.

lol, that's not shaving, that's removing. To shave those, you need to fill in those holes. Get some fiberflass in shove it in the back of those holes and fill them up, then have the body shop smooth it out for you. Looks good though :)

Whatever you do, stay away from bondo on those holes and fill or cover A.S.A.P. All I can say is, "eViL rUsT!"!

Nice job removing them though...;)

True that but I did the samething. I removed all of my emblems before taking it to the body shop just to see how it would look like.

What color are you painting it Jim?

Oh .............. the good days :D

Well, I did say started shaving my emblems. I didn't say it was done. My sisters bf does body work and he's going to show me how to fill in those holes and smooth that up.

It's going to be a similar color to what it is now, since I don't plan on painted the engine bay. Probably the same gray with more pearl in it.

Untill I can get them filled I completely went around the holes with touchup paint and we shoved little pieces of rubber in them. I just have to keep the bass down. I turned it up after I finished doing the rubber pieces and one of the came flying out at me.

I love the color of that car. The finished product for shaving will look really sharp. Hey, if you don't know what to do w/ the emblems, I'll take em from you if you want. Or buy them off ya.

Ya, I am thinking about doing the same to mine, when I get new paint. And that is nothing, my sub hit so hard that in the cold weather it somehow broke my damn trunk rack. So now those holes are plugged up with the screws.

And I am thinking the same thing about my car when I get new paint, seeing as my whole back end has already been repainted last year in that colour, but I will keep the colour the same.
